The Infusion Therapy Center is located within the main hospital.
Infusion therapy allows patients to safely receive medication through a flexible tube (catheter) that’s placed in a vein or just under the skin. Typically, “infusion therapy” means that a drug is given intravenously (through a vein), but it can also include fluid replacements such as blood transfusions, or an antibiotic therapy series. It is often prescribed when a patient’s condition is so severe that it cannot be treated effectively by oral medications.
Infusion therapy can be used to treat a wide variety of conditions including:
- Cancer
- Dehydration
- Gastrointestinal Disorders
- Congestive Heart Failure
- Crohn’s Disease
- Hemophilia
- Immune Deficiencies
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
The major infusion therapies are IV antibiotics which are prescribed for infections that are unresponsive to oral antibiotics. Diagnoses primarily using IV antibiotics include:
- Cellulitis
- Sepsis
- Osteomyelitis
- Urinary Tract Infections
- Pneumonia
- Sinusitis
The following infusion therapy services are available at our center:
