Valley View Medical Center Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary

November 20, 2015 (FT. MOHAVE, AZ) – In November, Valley View Medical Center proudly celebrated its 10-Year Anniversary of providing quality healthcare services to Tri-State Area residents. The festivities began on Saturday, November 7 with a community health fair and 5K fun run which also included train rides provided by Dr. Alan Barton, Pediatrician and a fire truck and “jaws of life” demonstration. Local business and civic leaders participated in 10-year joint ribbon cutting celebration on Wednesday, November 11 with officials from Mohave Valley, Bullhead City and Laughlin Chambers of Commerce. Valley View Medical Center is a 90-bed full service acute care hospital accredited by The Joint Commission. Opened in 2005, it is the area’s newest and only hospital with all private rooms for the comfort and safety of patients during their stay. In February 2015, Valley View Medical Center achieved accreditation as a designated chest pain center by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC). Emergency services are available 24/7, and include an on-site air ambulance helicopter and a Cardiac Catheterization Lab. A 12-bed critical care unit provides a wide range of life supporting therapies for critically ill patients. The Women’s Center offers spacious labor and delivery suites that are more like hotel rooms than hospital rooms, and each features a fold-down bed so that a family member can comfortably spend the night. A variety of inpatient and outpatient surgical services are also available, and outpatient services such as all-digital diagnostic imaging, lab, physical, occupational and speech rehabilitation therapies, home health services, wound care and hyperbaric therapy. The inpatient and outpatient radiology/ imaging center has all digital modalities including a Mammography, 4D Ultrasound, a new digital 64-slice CT Scanner, a recently upgraded 1.5 Tesla MRI, PET/CT, Echocardiography, DEXA Bone Density Scanner and Nuclear Medicine programs that are the envy of big city hospitals. Valley View Medical Center has the only hospital-based acute rehabilitation unit in the Bullhead City/Laughlin/Needles Area. The expanded 12-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit provides a full range of physical, occupational and speech therapy services, and includes an outdoor therapy courtyard. This award-winning program is beneficial for patients who have had strokes, certain joint replacements, amputations or other traumatic injuries. Valley View Medical Center’s main campus in Fort Mohave (just south of the Bullhead city limits) includes two medical office buildings and affiliated operations in Bullhead City and Laughlin include Crossroads Urgent Care, Wide Open MRI and Live Oak Family Medicine. Crossroads Urgent Care offers extended night and weekend hours and is the only licensed urgent care center in the southern portion of Bullhead City. Wide Open MRI provides open-sided diagnostic imaging for patients who are uncomfortable with using the usual enclosed MRI’s. Live Oak Family Medicine is a Valley Viewaffiliated primary care physician office located in Bullhead City and Laughlin.
